This graphic really helps to explain what is normal during the healing phase and how clients typically feel.
Phibrows is actually based on a science. The video explains how the design of brow is uniquely catered to each individual. However, with that being said, I do the measurements based on the Phibrows Measuring Compass in oil pencil. Then the client and I discuss any modification or tweeks desired to the shape before starting procedure.
This is on a case-by-case basis. Please email me here or at okinawabeautylab@gmail.com or via chat box (bottom right of screen) so I can determine if I can help you reach your goals and if so, how many appointments will be required to reach that goal. The price for this service varies.
Many different factors play a role in the longevity of microblading. The biggest factor in the lifespan of your results depends on your skin type. Oily skin tends to heal softer with a powder finish and require touch ups more frequently while drier skin types heal more crisp and defined and do not require touch ups as quickly. But the general rule is Microblading lasts between 1-2 years before a Touch Up will be necessary.
Most clients leave with very little redness or pain. As stated above numbing cream is applied so very little pain is involved. Most clients find they can immediately resume there normal activities such as going back to work or out shopping without feeling uncomfortable. However, your eyebrows will appear very dark this is for two reasons. One reason is some of the pigment is superficially attached to your natural hair follicles and will wash out within few days. The second reason is once healed the color will reduce by about 30- 50 % so it needs to appear dark in the beginning to account for the reduction. Patchiness and lightness are common after the first procedure. The second appointment addresses those issues. It is important to note that the first appointment is about getting the shape while the second appoitnment addresses variations in the healing process as well as to create additional volume.
Please read both the Salon Policies and Microblading Care Instructions to determine your eligibility.
A very common question is whether you can get Microblading if preganant or nursing. The answer is NO because there is always a risk of infection any time the skin is open and this could be passed to the child through pregnancy and breastfeeding.
NO Microblading is NOT a Tattoo. Microblading is considered Permanent Costemetics. There are some important differences between permanent cosmetics and tattoos. Tattoos use a machine and go very deep into the layers of the skin while Microblading is done by a handheld instrument and only goes in to the first few layers of skin. Tattoos are permanent while microblading will fade over time and will need touch ups every 1-3 years to maintain results.
I use topical numbing cream so the pain is very minimal. It is NOTHING like a tatoo which goes very deep into skin. Most clients find it more annoying like a scratching sensation rather than painful. However with that being said everybody's pain tolerance is different so you make take a TYLENOL before appointment but DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN.
The full Microblading procedure takes approximately 2 - 2.5 hours including filling out paperwork. Filling out paperwork that is provided to you at booking and bringing the completed paperwork to the appointment can shave off approximately 20 minutes.
Follow up appointments take between 1 - 1.5 hours. Filling out paperwork that is provided to you at booking and bringing the completed paperwork to the appointment can shave off approximately 20 minutes.
